The First 5 Songs You Should Learn on Piano

Do you want to start playing great sounding songs on the piano right away?

Here are five easy songs on the piano that are perfect for beginners! Not can learn them quickly, but they sound impressive, which is not always the case for beginner songs.

I don't know any adults that wanted to learn Baa Baa Black Sheep in their first few lessons. 

1. Für Elise – Beethoven

Für Elise is quite possibly the most well-known classical piano piece. Wouldn’t it be great to play it at the very start of your piano journey? Well, you can, with this simple arrangement!

Mastering this tune will help you start understanding chords, which is a fantastic way to sound impressive on the piano in no time.

 

2. Feeling Good – Iconic Piano Riff

This is a fantastic piano riff that you can learn quickly. It sounds super cool and is really fun to play.

Just like the other pieces, I’ve slightly simplified it to make it beginner-friendly.

3. Heart and Soul – Hoagy Carmichael

This is one of the most well-known piano songs for beginners, and it’s often played as a duet. In the interest of keeping things quick and simple, we’ll focus on the famous jaunty rhythm part.

Chords to Memorize:

C – Am – F – G

Now, break them up playing them from the bottom to the top using a swung rhythm.

Heart and Soul Piano

This song is a classic that many beginners learn, but keep reading because we’ve got a wildcard pick coming up that you might not expect!

4. The Unchained Melody Chord Pattern

In at number four we've got an arpeggio pattern that you can use to play many different songs, including Unchained Melody.

Learning this will help you add a beautiful, flowing style to your playing and make your playing sound more professional.

 

5. Toccata and Fugue in D Minor – Bach

And finally, let’s wrap up with my wildcard pick! This is the dramatic intro from Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by Bach. It’s a famous organ piece often used to create tension and fear, making it a fun and unique piece to add to your repertoire.
